What is it?
Answer: Think of it as a quilted aluminum thermal blanket for your home. When applied directly over your attic insulation (that you have now) it will give you a 30% + savings on your heating bill and keep the home cooler during the summer months. We call this product our ATTIC BLANKET.
If you are considering re-roofing in the near future, we could then apply a ROOF BLANKET over the entire roof prior to installing a new shingle or metal roof. The roof blanket will increase your savings to 45% + and your entire attic area will be substantially cooler during the summer months.
Why should we take the energy survey?
Answer: This is extremely helpful so when our energy consultant calls you back he/she can give you suggestions and/or tips on other ways to save dollars and increase efficiency on your heating and cooling bills.
What is the thickness of the material?
Answer: The material is .127 mm thick.
What is the R-Factor of the material?
Answer: The R-Factor is equal to 14.5, and when used in conjunction with your existing insulation, it will substantially lower your fuel consumption.
Can we install it ourselves?
Answer: Absolutely. Just call us with the measurements of your attic area that you wish to do or give us the exterior dimensions of the home and we will be very happy to give you a price and can ship it to you tomorrow. We can take your credit card information and ship it to you with installation instructions.
How do we insulate vaulted ceiling areas that do not have an attic area?
Answer: If this vaulted area is finished, the only affective way to insulate this area is the roof blanket completed in tandem with a new roof.
